César Menor Salván winner of the "Image of Distinction" of the 2013 edition of Photomicrography Competition on 06-11-2013

Every year NIKON organizes the prestigious Nikon Small World photo competition to show the beauty and complexity of life seen through a microscope. The contest has two modalities: photographic (Small World Photomicrography Competition) and in video format (Small World in Motion Digital Video Competition).

These awards could present any specialized graphic work done through a microscope.

This year's edition featured the best scientific photomicroscopists in the world, receiving thousands of images. The jury, after evaluating all the works, decided to grant the mention Image of Distinction the work: "Pearceite, an uncommon silver mineral < / a>, in beautiful hexagonal crystals "using the light technique reflected in a stereomicroscope whose author is César Menor Salván, from the Centro de
Astrobiology (CSIC-INTA).
