16-02-2016

Last week took place the fifth meeting RIA-SpaceTec: new perspectives in the development of astronomical instrumentation in Spain , held at the CSIC campus in Madrid. These meetings have been held since 2007 and offer a forum where researchers from public centers and private entities from all over Spain share the progress that is being made in the development of astronomical instrumentation.

The sessions were devoted to activities carried out in observatories on national soil, in international organizations and in space telescopes. Marina Villegas ( MINECO ) opened the meeting by informing about the characteristics of the new State Research Agency . Andrew Russell ( ESO ) spoke about the instrumentation development plans in the European Southern Observatory telescopes, and Luigi Colangeli ( ESA ) summarized the status of current and future missions of the scientific program of the European Space Agency.

The meeting It brought together more than 130 researchers , with a dense program that included all the developments in astronomical instrumentation that are being carried out in our country. The Spanish Network of Infrastructures (RIA, MINECO) and the SpaceTEC technological network of the Community of Madrid organized this conference.
