90 splendid suns on Mars

Although the title seems to want to paraphrase Khaled Hosseine's book Thousand Splendid Suns (the Spanish version), the term sun has another meaning in the exploration of Mars. Sun is the abbreviated form of the English solar day, solar day, and represents the time it takes the Sun to pass twice through the zero meridian. On Earth we call day and on Mars sun, perhaps to mean that they are not exactly the same, a sun has about 39 minutes more than a day.

Those 39 minutes of daily difference and the time of the satellites that They relay to the Earth the data that Curiosity sends them, they have made this period especially hard. There have not been two consecutive days in which work shifts at the control center, at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (in California), have begun at the same time. If the first day we started at 12 o'clock at night, 10 days later we started at 7 o'clock in the morning. The tension of doing something absolutely new and the disorientation of the schedule have been a difficult cocktail to digest some moments.
