Cosmic ray effects on Mars rocks

A recent study, led by the Center for Astrobiology (CAB), CSIC-INTA, shows how cosmic rays have shaped the elements of Martian rocks such as those collected by NASA’s Perseverance rover in Jezero Crater floor. This research is the most detailed simulation to date of how energetic cosmic particles produce rare isotopes, or cosmogenic nuclides, in Martian surface rocks
