A recent study, led by the Center for Astrobiology (CAB), CSIC-INTA, reports that deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) can preserve biological information even after millions of years of exposure to radiation under the extreme conditions of the Martian surface. This finding opens new avenues for searching for past life on Mars and other potentially habitable environments.
