She is an expert in the infrared and (sub)millimeter properties of star forming galaxies and active galaxies both in the local universe and at high redshift, and the dusty molecular tori of AGN. She was member of the science teams of the near-infrared instrument NICMOS on the Hubble Space Telescope, the mid-infrared instrument MIPS on the Spitzer Space Telescope, and the CanariCam instrument of the Gran Telescopio Canarias (GTC). Since 2003 she is co-investigator of the Spanish participation of the JWST/MIRI European Consortium and she is currently involved in the JWST guaranteed time programs of nearby galaxies and high redshift galaxies. She is member of the science board of the Galactic Activity, Outflow and Torus Survey (GATOS).
