My expertise spans over numerous aspects of organic/material chemistry and chemical biology. Indeed, during my PhD and thanks to the European outstanding program “Marie Sklodowska-Curie fellowships” (2011-2014), I focused on the synthesis of new organic nanomaterials (organic nanodots) as tools for cell imaging and with the long-term goal of replacing the widely used and non-eco-friendly quantum dots. In addition to the generation of fluorogenic materials, I also focused on improving the drug-delivery of different bioactive molecules. Following my PhD thesis (2015), a first postdoctoral stay at the University of Bordeaux, France, allowed me to expand my knowledge in the field. A second postdoctoral stay in the ENSCM as a CNRS researcher gave me the opportunity to explore deeply the material science domain, in particular by developing well-defined and biocompatible functionalized porous silicon nanoparticles as a potential platform for cancer theranostics. In 2018 I returned back to Spain as a postdoctoral fellow at the IQM (CSIC). Finally, in 2019 I was awarded with a Talent Attraction fellowship, since then I’ve being part of the prebiotic chemistry team.
