Supervisor: Ester Lázaro

I am graduate in Biotechnology at the University of Cadiz. Later, I studied a master’s degree in Biomedical Research at the University of Seville and spent a year and a half working as a researcher in the immunology laboratory of the University of Cadiz. There I was able to develop professionally in the field of molecular and cellular biology. Afterwards, I did my master’s degree in Virology at the Complutense University of Madrid, where I did my master’s thesis with Dra. Ester Lázaro and María Arribas, in which I was able to really get into the world of virology and astrobiology. Then I worked for a few months at the Institute for Integrative Systems Biology (I2SysBio) in Valencia where I carried out an experimental evolutionary study of the variants of concern of SARS-CoV-2. Now I am back in Dr. Lazaro’s lab to do my doctoral thesis on the study of the molecular evolution of bacteriophage Qβ to better understand the evolution of life on our planet.
