The INTA Aerial Platforms for Research is a large-scale facility which main component is a fleet of instrumented aircraft suitable to collect airborne data. Its priority objective is to attend the demand of access coming from the technical and scientific communities that require a appropriate and flexible aerial platform to carry out their studies in fields so diverse as aeronautical science, Earth observation, atmospheric research or R&D of new airborne devices that have to be tested in real flight conditions. In November 2009, the set-up so configured was acknowledged by the Spanish Ministry of Economy, Industry and Innovation (MINECO) as a National Large Scale Facility aimed to support Science and Research (ICTS-PAI).
