{"id":23363,"date":"2020-10-30T09:25:47","date_gmt":"2020-10-30T08:25:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cab.inta-csic.es\/personal\/arribas-mocoroa-santiago\/"},"modified":"2022-07-04T09:46:57","modified_gmt":"2022-07-04T07:46:57","slug":"arribas-mocoroa-santiago","status":"publish","type":"personal","link":"https:\/\/cab.inta-csic.es\/en\/personal\/arribas-mocoroa-santiago\/","title":{"rendered":"Arribas Mocoroa, Santiago"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Research Professor of the CSIC at Centro de Astrobiolog\u00eda. <\/p>\n\n<p>He did his PhD thesis on the determination of stellar parameters at the Instituto de Astrof\u00edsica de Canarias, where he also carried out instrument developments on 3D spectroscopy for the telescopes of La Palma Observatory. Since then, he has applied this technique to the study of galaxies, and has contributed to its development in other large telescopes as the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) and the Extremely Large Telescope (ELT). <\/p>\n\n<p>Since 1998 he participates in the JWST project as member of several working groups of ESA and NASA. Currently he is a member of the NIRSpec Instrument Science Team (NIST) and Principal Investigator of the project \u201cSpanish participation in the JWST\u201d funded by the AEI (Spanish Research Agency). Santiago Arribas is also co-investigator and member of the science team of HARMONI, a 3D spectrograph for ELT.<\/p>\n\n<p>He is currently developing several observational projects aimed at studying the spatially resolved properties of star-forming galaxies, mainly using the ESO telescopes and HST.
