CAB Mentoring program
The CAB Mentoring Program provides dedicated support to PhD candidates at CAB throughout the development of their doctoral theses. CAB staff and postdoctoral researchers act as mentors, offering professional guidance to predoctoral researchers and advising them for a healthy work/life balance during this key stage of their careers.
The main goals of the program are to broaden researchers’ professional environments and outcomes, and to make them aware of networking opportunities both within and beyond academia. The program also seeks to build a robust international network of contacts among researchers working in different academic environments to help early-career researchers gain self-confidence and to provide complementary support that equips mentees with the skills needed for a successful career.
Both mentors and mentees receive specific training at the beginning of the program to ensure clear expectations and effective mentoring relationships. Since early 2025, CAB has established a broad pool of mentors at different stages of their scientific careers and across diverse scientific fields, creating an inclusive and dynamic community that brings together a wide range of scientific backgrounds, nationalities, and professional experiences. Currently, 15 PhD candidates are actively participating in the CAB Mentoring Program as mentees.
The program is continuously open to new PhD candidates who wish to join as mentees, as well as to researchers and technical experts who want to volunteer to serve as mentors.
The CAB Mentoring Program committee is organised by Bruno Rodríguez del Pino, Miriam García García, Ivanna Langan and Angèle Taillard. People interested in the program can write to us at cabmentoring@googlegroups.com
