The "Centro de Física Miguel A. Catalán" (CFMAC) is located in CSIC central headquarters (Serrano street numbers 113 to 123), not far from the downtown, 30 minutes by subway (“Metro”) from Puerta del Sol (downtown centre) and half an hour by taxi from Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airport, and 20 minutes subway from "Estación Sur de Autobuses". CFMAC is close to the CSIC access from Serrano street: it is the first to the right bulding.
Note that the entrance to the conference room in the MAC is in the second entrance at the right. You must go inside CSIC campus and walk around the CFMAC building to find the second entrance. The conference room is in front of the main entrance.
CSIC central headquarters can be conveniently reached by Metro Subway Lines 8 (PINK LINE) and 6 (GREY LINE) “Nuevos Ministerios” station (10 minutes walking distance), by Subway Line 6 (GREY LINE) “República Argentina” station (exit “Juan de la Cierva Street”, 5 minutes walking distance), Subway Line 6 (GREY LINE) "Avenida de America" (20 min walking distance), or by Metro Subway lines 10 (BLUE LINE) and 7 (ORANGE LINE) “Gregorio Marañón” station (10 minutes walking distance). All of them are depicted in the map below.
Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airport has four terminals. As described in the homepage of the airport, all terminals are conveniently connected to the Metro Subway Line 8 (PINK LINE), which ends up in “Nuevos Ministerios” (see below), 10 minutes walking distance from the CSIC central headquarters. However, at the date of the workshop, Line 8 only goes up to "Mar de Cristal" so you would need to changue the metro in "Mar de Cristal" and take Line 4 (marron, direction "Arguelles") up to "Avenida de America", and then line 6 (grey) up to "Republica Argentina" (only 1 station). Note that the aipot has a suppelemnt of 3 € + metro ticket.
A second option is to take "cercanias" the lines C-1 or C-10 and go to "Nuevos Ministerios", and then take the metro Line 6 (GREY LINE) to Republica argentina (or go walking).
A third option is to take the bus 200 up to "Avenidad de America" (single bus ticket, no aiport supplement) and take there metro Line 6 to "Republica Artgentina" (one station) or go walking.
Taxis are also available at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airport (about half an hour to CSIC Central Campus and a FIXED RATE of 30 euros).
For those who comes by bus (from Granada), the bus reach the "Estación Sur de Autobuses" which is the Metro Subway Line 6 (GREY LINE) in the "Mendez Alvaro" station. You can take the metro up to "Republica Argentina", which is also Line 6.
Note that some buses from Granada, may stop at "Avenida de America" (quite close CSIC; see avobe) or Barajas Aiport.
