Expert in the study of the physical and chemical properties of the circumstellar envelopes around low- and intermediate-mass evolved stars: AGB, post-AGB and Planetary Nebulae (PNe). I carry out extensive studies of these systems supported by observations in different spectral ranges, mainly in the (sub) millimeter, infrared and optical as well as, secondarily, in ultraviolet and X-rays. Expert in single antenna and interferometric observations of continuum and lines in the (sub)mm range, with the IRAM’s 30m antenna and the ALMA interferometer (among others), and spectral surveys in the far infrared with the Herschel space telescope. In the optical and near infrared, I carry out studies based on imaging and spectroscopy with various telescopes and techniques, including the Hubble Space Telescope, the Keck-10m telescope adaptive optics system, the 10.4m Gran Telescopio de Canarias, etc. Expert in data analysis and interpretation using varied techniques based on theoretical studies and/or models of, e.g., the emissivity of dust, excitation and emission of molecular and atomic lines, photochemistry and chemical processes induced by shocks, radiative transfer and morphokinematic models. Participation in more than twenty funded research projects (2 as PI), including in recent years the ERC Synergy Grant NANOCOSMOS. Experience in the direction of doctoral and master’s theses. I have been a member of the Spanish CAT and the ALMA time allocation panel (among others). Member of the scientific team of the MEGARA instrument (GTC-10.4m).
