We are looking for a software engineer in Java language to carry out the development of new analysis tools of astronomical data for the MAdrid Data CUBe Analysis software (MADCUBA, https://cab.inta-csic.es/madcuba/) developed at the Centro de Astrobiologia (CAB, CSIC-INTA) at the INTA Campus in Torrejon (https://cab.inta-csic.es/).
CAB is an interdisciplinary research center founded jointly by the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and the National Institute of Aerospace Technology (INTA), where researchers from different disciplines (from astronomy and astrophysics to geology, biogeochemistry or microbiology) interact in an stimulating environment to provide answers to the complex problem of the origin of life.
The candidate will work in the «Chemical complexity in the ISM and star formation group» (https://cab.inta-csic.es/astrochem/) in close collaboration with astronomers and experts in the field of astrochemistry and star formation. The work developed by the candidate will serve to analyze spectroscopic data from radio telescopes such as the Atacama Large Millimeter Array (ALMA) or space telescopes such as the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST).
Responsibilities
Develop in Java new functionalities within the MADCUBA software to analyze data from the Atacama Large Millimeter/Submillimeter Array (ALMA) and the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST).
Qualifications
The candidate will need to have at least a Bachelor’s degree, knowledge/experience in Java programming, as well as some knowledge of the English language.
We offer a full-time (37.5 hours per week), one year contract (with the possibility of extension). There is the possibility of teleworking.
