Centro de Astrobiología (CSIC-INTA), (hereinafter CAB), informs about the use of cookies on its website.
Cookies are files that can be downloaded to your computer through websites. They are tools that play an essential role in the provision of many information society services. Among others, they allow a website to store and retrieve information about the browsing habits of a user or his/her computer and, depending on the information obtained, they can be used to recognise the user and improve the service offered.
Types of cookies
Depending on the entity that manages the domain from which the cookies are sent and processes the data obtained, two types of cookies can be distinguished: first-party cookies and third-party cookies.
There is also a second classification according to the length of time they remain stored in the client’s browser, which may be session cookies or persistent cookies.
Finally, there is another classification with five types of cookies depending on the purpose for which the data obtained is processed: technical cookies, personalisation cookies, analysis cookies, advertising cookies and behavioural advertising cookies.

Cookies used on the website
The CAB website uses Google Analytics, the analytics tool that helps websites and application owners understand how their visitors interact with their properties. A set of cookies are used to collect information and report website usage statistics without personally identifying Google visitors. Learn more about Google Analytics cookies and privacy information.
For the promotion of social networks we are using the Twiter, Facebook and Youtube cookies, so that our visitors can follow us on these networks and on the homepage we embed the contents of Twiter and Youtube.
On the other hand, cookies are used to preserve the session state of a user. This is set at 30 minutes after the user stops interacting with the application. JSESSIONID, GUEST_LANGUAGE_ID and COOKIE_SUPPORT.
Acceptance of Cookies Policy
CAB assumes that you accept the use of cookies. However, information about its Cookies Policy will be displayed at the top of any page on the website so that you are aware of it.
Given this information, the following actions can be taken:
- Accept cookies: if the user presses the acceptance button, this warning will no longer be displayed when accessing any page of the portal.
- Review the cookies policy: The user will be able to access this page detailing the use of cookies, as well as links to modify browser settings.
