Lee Patrick is a CSIC Staff Scientist in the astrophysics department and a visiting Fellow at The Open University. Dr Patrick works on the evolution of massive stars, where he specialises in near-infrared observations.
Dr Patrick was previously a APOSTD Fellow at Universidad de Alicante working on the Generalitat Valenciana funded project “Unveiling the secrets of massive stars in the near-Infrared.” This project was split between the Open University and the Universidad de Alicante.
Prior to that Dr Patrick was a postdoc at the Instituto de Instituto de Astrofisica de las Canarias, Tenerife who worked on the EMIR (Espectrógrafo Multiobjeto Infrarrojo) instrument team, currently installed on the Gran Telescopio Canarias (GTC) – led by the IAC.
Dr Patrick completed his PhD at the University of Edinburgh working with Dr Chris Evans (now of ESA) on red supergiant stars and prior to this he studied astrophysics at the University of Sheffield.
