I am an observational astronomer. I study dust, gas, and star formation properties of intermediate and high redshift galaxies. I use ground-based observatories, such as Keck, LBT, VLT, and ALMA, and space telescopes, JWST, Hubble, Spitzer, Herschel, to study how galaxies form and evolve throughout cosmic time. During the commissioning and development years of JWST, I was part of the mid-infrared instrument (MIRI) team.

I received my Bachelor’s degree in Physics from the University of Tehran, Iran, and my Master’s and PhD from the University of California at Riverside, United States, in 2017. During my PhD, I was an NSF Graduate Research Fellow. I started my postdoctoral position at the University of Arizona in 2017 and received a NASA Hubble fellowship from 2018 to 2021. From 2021 to 2023, I was a Research Faculty at the University of Arizona, as part of the JWST MIRI and NIRCam teams. Since July 2023, I joined CAB in Madrid as an Atraccíon de Talento fellow (senior).
